I wish I had this book when I started out doing stained glass!!! This is a VERY detailed, excellent source for ALL aspects of learning copper foil AND came techniques, from definitions of types of glass, tools needed, to clearly written step-by-step instructions -- complete with multiple pictures -- for projects that include all sorts of designs, such as simple hanging designs to designs that incorporate water! When I started taking classes at my local glass hobby store, I went to my local library to obtain background information and beginner books to learn more than just picking up tidbits while in-class. This is THE book EVERY newbie and someone who wants to learn something more beyond the basics. Besides, just like the authors, I too am an avid gardener so to have two of my passions -- gardening and glass -- in one book ties everything together like a hand and glove. A BIG thank you to the authors for putting together not only such a concise book but also one that I have been searching for such a long time. It is obvious that the authors' experience and knowledge form the basis of this absolutely wonderful book!

I'm new at this and I found this had a lot of interesting ideas and information.
A nice mix of projects, detailed instructions for all the components.
Someday I hope to do some of these patterns, as I'm new to the hobby. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how detailed it lays out the details on stained glass, great tips and combined with the Stained Glass for Dummies, I was well on my way. They explain things in this book very well as well as defining supplies for your project.
This book is full of wonderful garden stained glass projects, but the majority of projects aren't for a beginner, you need to have experience. The majority of projects are very time consumming and sometimes require 2 people to assembly the project. It is a great book to look at and if you want to spend several days on just 1 project for your garden art, this may be a book for you.
I loved this book. It switched me from thinking planar to 3D.
