I have purchased many books on acrylic painting and Lee Hammond's Big Book of Acrylic Painting is by far the best. This book has a great introduction for the basics of acrylic painting. It is very informidable, easy to understand with clear step by step instructions on painting with beautiful vivid reference photos.
It has a lot of good information. I've already learned a lot from the tutorials I have seen on the internet, but it's nice to have it on hand when the computer is available.
I love learning from Lee Hammond the way she lay out each step by step instruction. I have the paperback version of this book also. I was excited to learn that she had and ebook version that I could keep with me at all times. I continue to learn new things as I practice using her style. I recommend that everyone should try Lee Hammond's books.
This is a wonderful guide to painting in general, and in acrylic in specific. I checked it out of the library so many times! When I was given an Amazon Gift Certificate I decided to buy it. Really great resource book!
this book is very think and chock full of techniques to learn. how to paint and represent animals, plants, trees, people water objects. Color compositon, hues shading - just everything you would need to learn and practice to become an experienced painter. highly recommend!!
I'm a beginner but this book is a joke. Lots of filler and her grid technique is not a way to learn to paint or draw. If this is how to do it, you might as well paint by numbers.
Lee's book provides a great mix of painting techniques that are sure to give the reader a foundation that will be helpful for many years.
This is a great all purpose manual for acrylic painting. I'm new to acrylic painting and I can't believe how often I refer to this book. It's my guide and my inspiration.
